CELEBRITY FLAG FOOTBALL GAME TO RAISE MONEY FOR YOUTH PROGRAMS The Leominster Recreation Department will host a Celebrity Flag Football Game between the New England Patriots Legends Team and the Leominster Recreation Department All-Stars at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, at Doyle Field. There will be free autographs, refreshments, a live play-by-play announcer and free publication. FRIDAY

The Leominster Recreation Department is offering the workshop "Science Make-It and Take-It Home" from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Skyview Middle School, 500 Kennedy Way, Leominster. Children will have the opportunity to grow and take home a crystal tree; build and take home an electric motor; make bubbling blobs, glowing goo and green flubber; make an energy bead bracelet; make a lava lamp, as well as their own Sharpie shirts. SATURDAY

 Leominster Pop Warner will host a Car Wash fundraiser from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the field's parking lot, located on Litchfield Street. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the concession stand or at the entrance to the field.

The Leominster Historical Society is sponsoring a Historic Cemetery Tour, lead by Mark Bodanza. Participants are asked to meet at the main gate of Pine Grove Cemetery at 10 a.m. and wear comfortable shoes for a fascinating look at Leominster's early residents' final resting spot.
