For Your Health

What to do with…Salmon – We all know how much we love salmon for its heart-healthy benefits. The next time it’s on your dinner menu, prepare an extra amount, then use the leftover flaked into a salad or tossed with pasta.

Ah, Avocados! – Bursting with healthy essential fatty acids, avocados are a great go-to food for those who want to build muscle and stay lean. Think beyond guacamole, and try these quick recipes.

As a salad - Skip the lettuce and thinly slice two avocados. Toss with four thin slices of red onion, two sliced oranges, three tablespoons of olive oil, two tablespoons of chopped mint, one tablespoon of lemon juice, and a dash of salt.

As a sandwich spread- a more nutritious, not to mention flavorful, alternative to mayo, mashed avocado perfectly compliments chicken or turkey sandwiches.

As a morning starter – dice an avocado and ad it to scrambled eggs, or top a whole-wheat English muffin or waffle with a few slices of avocado.
