CHAMPIONS OF THE WEEK

Leominster girls U-12A Soccer Team

The Leominster Girls U-12A Soccer team won the MTOC Nashoba Division 2 Title this past spring. The girls were coached by Dave Del Giudice and Assistant Coach Paul Healy.

The season started off on a high note with a 4-0 victory over Lancaster. The next two games were hard fought against Westboro and Littleton. They resulted in 2-1 losses respectively. The girls regrouped and pulled together to win the next 5 consecutive games to finish out the season. The key game was against Pepperell, where the girls battled hard and came out with a 2-1 victory, which secured the MTOC Division 2 U-12A Title and an invitation to the Massachusetts Tournament Of Champions State Tournament at Citizens Bank Field in Lancaster!

The Team entered the Tournament represented by; GOAL KEEPER – Gianna Del Giudice, OFFENSE – Keagan Castles, Bridget Hadorn, Krysta Lopez, Kyleigh Olivier, Tessa Patten, Samantha Peznola, Rilee Skinner, DEFENSE – Elizabeth Devaney, Jennifer Healy, Megan Hutchinson, Alexi Nowokunski.

The girls exploded out of the gate with a 3-1 victory over Hingham on a rain soaked field, Friday evening, June 24th. The next day, Saturday, brought a competitive battle against North Andover, where Leominster came up short 4 -0. This game was followed by a hard fought 1-1 tie against Dartmouth.

Throughout the MTOC Tournament, the girls worked as a cohesive, focused and respectful team. Supporting each other passionately during each game, this was recognized by the Tournament Officials and the Team was honored with “The Sportsmanship Award” from Citizens Bank! What an honor for the team, coaches, parents and Leominster Youth Soccer. What a weekend! What a Year! Great Job Blue Blizzards!
